22.12.2010, 00:08 8

The unfreezing of public sector projects will lead to an 8percent growth of the local software and IT services market, saysEugen Schwab-Chesaru, managing director for Central and EasternEurope of market research and consulting company Pierre AudoinConsultants (PAC).

"For 2010 we expect growth for system integration andoutsourcing, with great emphasis on infrastructure (for instanceoutsourcing a company's IT department i.e.)," Schwab says.
This year the software and services market reached 704 millioneuros, the same as in 2009, according to PAC estimates. "Declineswere recorded on the Project Services segment, i.e. on integration, software development on demand, training, and the public sector wasa big disappointment, as were retail, services and insurancesectors," says the head of PAC. He added that he could not estimateby how much these segments have fallen, arguing that figures haveyet to be consolidated.
The outsourcing market reached around 35 million euros, excludingagreements with telecom networks.
