State seeks 20 "quite big" SMEs that eye aggressive growth through Bourse

Economy Ministry representatives are working on a project meantto help the SMEs that want to expand more quickly and raise fundingfrom the Bourse. According to the project, the state would bearpart of costs related to listing process.
The project is likely to be implemented starting next year and thestate's non-reimbursable aid would stand at as much as 200,000euros depending on the size of the company and of the IPO.
"This is a project we would like to implement. We want to find some"quite big" SMEs with turnover within the limit of 50m euros thatshould be representative for Romania's SMEs in terms of growthpotential and that should raise massive capital through the Bourse.(...) Through this project we want to show the state is supportingsuch initiatives," explained Cezar Iliu, an adviser with theBusiness Environment department of the Economy Ministry, during apress conference at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE).
He also says that to have access to such a programme, the companyshould not be excessively indebted, its owner should not make hisor her exit through the IPO and it should already have someresources of its own available for growth.
