26.05.2010, 20:21 7

European stock exchanges rallied on Wednesday, following thetrend imposed by Wall Street, with investors showing moreconfidence that economic problems in the euro zone will beresolved, and that things will calm down in the KoreanPeninsula.

After recording 2-3% declines on Tuesday, European stockexchanges rebounded yesterday, offsetting losses recorded on theprevious day. The Bucharest Stock Exchange went from a 9% slump onTuesday to a rise by a similar 9.51% of the BET index, with suchfluctuations being rare on this market.

"The stock exchange rally came in response to the reportpublished by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation andDevelopment (OECD), which is more optimistic about economicprospects," believes Laurian Lungu, managing partner ofmacroeconomic analysis and consulting company Macroanalitica. "Thefactors that have a negative impact on the stock exchanges are thecrisis in the euro zone, amplified by the lack of direction, thetense situation in North Korea, and the legislation for financialinstitutions which is to be adopted by the European authorities."
