Tampiza leaves Lukoil Romania after 8 years at the helm

Constantin Tampiza, 62, one of the best-known bosses in thelocal petroleum industry was replaced as chief executive of LukoilRomania by Maxim Khitrov at the end of last week, after aneight-year term. Under his leadership, Lukoil Romania became thethird-largest player in the local petroleum industry, moving from21 million-euro turnover at the end of 2001 to a business put at4.59 billion RON (over one billion euros) this year.
"I am almost 63 years old now. I was appointed representative ofLukoil's chairman (Vagit Alekperov i.e.) to Romania and from thisposition I will take care of everything related to Lukoil on thelocal market: refinery, filling stations," Tampiza says.
