The National Tax Administration Agency (ANAF) has become aleading competitor on the second-hand car market for specialisedcompanies and for leasing companies that resell cars repossessedfrom clients who no longer pay their instalments, featuring ads forcars worth over half a million euros on its website.
In the section where goods seized from individuals and fromcompanies are sold, the agency published its offer, structured intocounties, which includes more than 130 vehicles aged between oneand 30 years old.
They are assets seized to cover debt owed to the state,vehicles that the agency intends to sell, with a cumulated value of2 million RON (around 500,000 euros). Representatives of the taxauthorities did not provide any comment to ZF on the process ofreselling seized vehicles to recover debt owed by companies to thestate.
The value is comparable to that of a car fleet of around 70second-hand vehicles, which are generally worth around 6,800 -7,400 euros, according to online ads.
