The first “glass” offices of Bucharest still lure tenants owing to location

The owners of Opera Center and Europe House office buildings ofBucharest, two of the first modern "glass" buildings, have recentlyrented spaces to Adecco Resurse Umane and BCR Banca pentruLocuinte, firms that are undergoing relocation. The two buildings,among the first to be raised in the capital city, boast positionsclose to Piata Eroilor and Piata Victoriei underground stations.Nevertheless, after years when the two buildings have been amongthe few solutions for multinationals opening offices in Bucharest,once new buildings have been finished, more modern ones and withwider parking lots, vacant spaces have started emerging in theformer. "After the departure of HP, Oracle and Microsoft, around40% of Europe House space has been vacant. Meanwhile, we haverented a 800-sqm space to BCR Banca pentru Locuinte, with officesnow being fitted out, so that the headquarters could becomeoperational in around one month," stated Marian Roman, generalmanager of Europolis investment fund, owner of Europe Housebuilding of Piata Victoriei. An important departure has been alsoregistered in the case of Opera Center, with PricewaterhouseCoopersand D&B David and Baias law firm relocating to Lakeview,leaving behind vacant spaces with an area of around 3,500 squaremetres.
