C&D Solutions in Brasov, owner of travel websitesTourismGuide.ro and AllSeasons.ro, which sold a 70% stake toPolish-held NetMedia, was set up in 2003 by Daniel Dobrita (now28), who graduated from the Faculty of Tourism, and was originallyintended to promote tourism on Prahova Valley.
"The idea for the business first came up in 2003 out of a desire topromote tourism in the Prahova Valley via the www.tourismguide.roportal. A year later our company had gained national coverage, promoting lodging facilities and places of touristic interestthroughout Romania. Later, in addition to promoting lodgingfacilities in Romania, we also developed All Seasons travel agencyin order to respond more effectively to demands for lodging thatcame to us via the TourismGuide.ro portal," Daniel Dobrita told ZF.He added that investments in this business totalled 300-400,000euros in the company's seven years in business.
Dobrita said the transaction concluded with NetMedia, a Polishcompany specialising in electronic commerce, amounted to 160,000euros, one of the reasons for the sale being the company'sfinancial situation. The Brasov-based company had stepped into thered last year, after a 4,000-euro profit in 2008, with its revenuesdown to 650,000 euros from 661,440 euros in 2008.
