Three quarters of pension tourism, informal

27.07.2010, 23:08 6

Pensions are the travel accommodation facilities that operate onthe black market the most, with declared revenues being lower thanthose collected, in the context where tourists that check in arenot given fiscal receipts, believe several tourism consultants.Tourism Ministry data differ significantly from Town Hall data. TheMinistry says 52,000 tourists were accommodated in Buşteni in 2009,but the Town Hall data say there were 200,000 tourists registeredin the resort. This example shows that three quarters of pensiontourism is informal.
"I don't think I would be mistaken to say that most pensionsoperate in the informal sector, although not entirely so. Whilehotels affiliated to international chains are forced to operateunder certain rules, most pensions are managed by the families thatown them, so certain things are easier to "manipulate"," saidLucian Marinescu, senior associate of consultancy TrendHospitality.
