Ţiriac brings Piţigoi back at the helm of the auto division

Marius Piţigoi, 57, one of Ion Ţiriac'soldest lieutenants, returns to the helm of the auto division, anentity, which contributes more than 700 million euros per year tothe businesses of the Ţiriac group. Piţigoi's return comes sixyears after he left the group to develop his own business.Previously, the position was held by Marius Drăghici, who left inmid-2010.

The group's auto division includes the four importers, HyundaiAuto Romania, M Car Trading (Mitsubishi), Premium Auto (Land Roverand Jaguar), Romcar (Ford until August 1st) and ŢiriacAuto, theauto retail division, a business that last year reached around 700million euros, according to ZF calculations, being the biggestlocal car seller, ahead of Porsche Romania, the biggest importer.ŢiriacAuto is the biggest chain of dealers on the Romanian market,which sells 11 car brands, among which Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Hyundaiand Jaguar through 65 showrooms.
Alongside Viorel Niculescu, the former head of Romcar, a companywhich, until August 1st, was in charge of Ford imports on theRomanian market, Marius Piţigoi was one of the two founders ofŢiriac's auto division in the early 90s, in charge of the mostrepresentative brands within the group, Mercedes-Benz and Ford.
