Swedish automotive component manufacturer will start operations at antivibration products factory in Dej Industrial Park, in the first half of December.
According to the Park's managers, the factory will have a 25,000 square metre area, with the investment amounting to some 10m euros. The group's presence in Romania is part of its expansion strategy in Eastern Europe and, according to the company's estimates, the factory from Dej is set to derive sales amounting to approximately 31.5 million euros by 2009.
"Trelleborg is the first company to invest in this industrial park, with 100 - 150 jobs to be created in the first phase. The Swedish company benefited from the privilege of the first investor and, although our development strategy involves leasing the land, we agreed to sell them the amount of land they asked for, namely 2 hectares," Adriana Cristea, general manager with SC Arc Parc SRL, company that manages Dej Industrial Park, told ZF Transilvania. She declined revealing the value of the plot of land purchased by Trelleborg.
"The park's offers are very flexible, those who want to lease plots of land here, can do that at prices of 3-4 euros per square metre, but the leasing contract value depends on the size of the investment. At present, some 13% of the Park's infrastructure is completed, with the rest being scheduled for completion gradually and depending on investors' requests," also said Adriana Cristea. According to her, in two years at latest, Dej Industrial Park will be entirely occupied, and the investments in infrastructure are set to amount to approximately 5,8m euros. "At the moment we are in talks with three other companies, one from Austria and two from Germany, with a decision being set for next year. These three companies want to lease 8 hectares of land," added the general manager with Dej Industrial Park. The Park takes up 40.18 hectares, placed within Dej town, in Cluj county.
Swedish group Trelleborg was set up by businessman Henry Dunker in 1905, and numbers 20,000 employees in 40 countries, at the moment. The group's annual sales amount to some 23 billion Swedish kronas (approximately 2.4 billion euros). Trelleborg group's shares are listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
