UniCredit Romania last year posted net income in excess of 100 billion ROL (roughly 3m euros), four times higher than in 2001. At the same time, the bank's assets amounted to 3,700 billion ROL. Liana Constantinescu, the bank's deputy general manager, released the preliminary figures at the end of last week, when UniCredit dedicated its 15th subsidiary, based in Pitesti. "These are preliminary figures, calculated in accordance with the Romanian accounting standards," Constantinescu said, adding the official results would be released in March. ZF
