The local branch of the Turkish electronics and home appliances manufacturer Vestel, estimates it will see its turnover double this year to 25 million euros, after it reported sales worth 12.5 million euros at the end of 2007. "We are looking to double our turnover in 2008, through promoting our manufactured brands, and also by expanding our clients' product portfolios," said Ozgur Dikisoglu, general manager of Vestel Romania. Vestel manufactures electronics and home appliances under brands such as Whirlpool, JVC, Samsung, Philips and Nokia, as well as its own brands, Vestel, and Finlux (previously held by Nokia). The company's overall domestic sales, under both the company's and clients' own brands, amounted to 65.8 million euros in 2007, after partner retail chains primarily sold products imported directly from the Turkish-based plant. "The overall turnover increase will be lower in comparison to the local branch. In 2008, we forecast imports will go up by 10% against the 65.8 million euros posted last year," added Dikisoglu. Vestel's partners on the domestic market are specialist retail chains Altex, Domo, Flanco, Teknosa and Rombiz, for which they make private label products such as Myria, Teletech, Watson, Eurocolor and Orion.
