Construction works on the Colosseum shopping centre, one of the largest projects of its kind announced in Bucharest, could start in the spring of next year, with the first stage to entail the construction of a retail park, which will include a Carrefour hypermarket, a Flanco store, a store which is part of a French DIY store, Leroy Merlin and other retailers. German-based ECE, which was supposed to develop a mall within the Sema Parc project in Bucharest, has this week taken over rental and administration of the project, which entails an investment estimated at over 300 million euros. "In February-March we intend to start construction of the retail park and, immediately afterwards, probably in autumn, works on the mall," Radu Merica, general manager of ECE in Romania, told ZF.
