Ziarul Financiar has rewarded 15 law firms for their activity in2009 at the first Lawyers' Gala, organised in partnership withRaiffeisen Bank. The awards were given for the top three firms interms of revenues, for providing assistance in one of the toptransactions in ten sectors of the economy, and two special awards- for the most promising start-up, and for the Romanianentrepreneur's lawyer.
The law firm that received the most awards for its activity in2009 was Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, with three awards, for thebiggest law firm in terms of revenues, for the most importantlitigation - assisting the Romanian state in its litigation againstduty free operator EDF, and for the biggest transaction in theenergy sector, when it assisted CEZ in the acquisition of minoritystakes in CEZ Distributie (CEZ Transmission) and CEZ Vanzare (CEZSale), a 230 million-euro deal. The other winners include NNDKP,Musat & Asociatii, Popoviciu Nitu & Asociatii, Schoenherr,RTPR Allen & Overy, Reff & Asociatii, Voicu &Filipescu, Badea Clifford Chance, and Danila, Petre si Asociatii.
