Cruises are 20% cheaper this year

Travel operators believe cruises will be the highest growing travel package this year, due to the fact that the trip includes several destinations. Holidays on cruise ships are up to 20% cheaper this year than last year. "Cruises are a type of holiday very much in demand for a certain type of clients, affluent ones with high standards when it comes to holidays. I don't think we run the risk of failing to sell cruises this year, given that those who book such holidays are less affected by financial problems," said Lucia Morariu, one of the owners of Eximtur, based in Cluj, which has cruises in its offer. Morariu added that cruise holidays should be contracted long in advance in order to make sure one gets a good price. "I think we will see rises both in terms of revenues and in terms of the number of cruises sold this year, given the 20% price reduction," said the representative of the Eximtur travel agency, which sold cruises worth 80,000 euros last year.
