Timisoara-based lighting products manufacturer Elba posted a gross profit worth almost 6 million euros (21.3 million RON) last year, an 8% decline against the previous year, according to data published in the Official Gazette. The company''s turnover amounted to 28 million euros (101.7 million RON), an increase of almost 18% against the 23.6 million euros (95.6 million RON) seen in
2004. Company officials could not be contacted to comment on these results. According to company data, headlights and car lamps deliveries
to Automobile Dacia for the Dacia Logan model account for the bulk of Elba''s turnover. At the same time, contracts with municipalities to modernise and maintain the street lighting system in Arad, Timisoara and Harghita also
contributed towards turnover. The company forecasts an increase of its business by over 20% this year, to 34 million euros, given that the investment plans are worth some 4 million euros, to be used to acquire new equipment and to modernise and expand the production space. ZF
