Timisoara-based ETA group, including four companies operating in different segments of the IT market, estimates it will post turnover worth 21 million euros and 4% profit margin this year, Romulus Lucaciu, general manager and the sole shareholder in the companies of the group, told ZF. Last year, ETA registered turnover worth 15 million euros and 3% profit margin, compared with 12m-euro turnover and 4% profit margin in 2004. The four companies of the group are ETA2U Computer, ETA Automatizari Industriale (Industrial Automation), INFOTIM and ITPS. Set up in 1992, ETA2U Computer is the most important company of the group, being involved in IT product retail activities, but also operating as a system integrator and a provider of IT services. The company currently has 140 employees, with the main subsidiaries located in Arad, Deva, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea and Sibiu, where it also owns 9 stores. Romulus Lucaciu does not expect any spectacular developments on the domestic market in the wake of EU integration, since the IT sector is one of the most competitive in the entire Romanian economy. On the other hand, he foresees "tightening competition from the part of foreign companies (...) However, customers are in the hands of Romanian companies for now and it's up to us to retain them (...)."
