Air taxi companies have boosted the number of promotional offersstarting last year, when demand for these services started droppingas the budgets of companies, the main clients that rented theaircraft for business transportation, plummeted. "We have launchedpromotional offers starting last year and we're operatedsignificant reductions (...)," says Cristina Mitchievici, arepresentative of Regional Air Services (RAS). On the other hand,Heni Haider, owner of Efly, handling aircraft rental, specifiesthat demand in the first quarter of 2010 rose from a year ago, butvery few requests materialised eventually. "As regards largeorders, for companies or businesspeople, their number is stilllow," Heni Haider says. The package that attracted individuals isflying over Bucharest, with prices standing at 500 RON perpassenger for 20-25 minutes of flight. Direct Aero Servicescompany, controlled by businessman Nelu Iordache, with a fleet of 3aircraft and two helicopters, saw the number of clients go upagainst previous years, after acquiring jet planes. "The increasewas a progressive one, though, taking into account the economicdownturn," says Luminita Ivanici, marketing and communicationmanager with the company.
