Elba witnessed its turnover increase to 27.5 million euros last year due the increase in the demand for Logan and to new city lighting contracts. "The lights and lamps for Dacia Logan accounted for a significant share of our turnover last year. The modernisation and maintenance of street lighting in Arad, Timisoara and Marghita also made a significant contribution to the company''s revenues," says Lucia Gheorghe, Elba''s financial manager. The Timisoara-based lighting equipment producer expects business to grow by more than 23% this year to 34 million euros. "We anticipate 3.7 million-euro investments in new equipment, retooling and expansion of the production facilities for 2006," the company officials say. The company last autumn began an additional investment programme worth 1 million euros to modernise the manufacturing process of car lights and lamps, due to a higher demand for such components for the Dacia Logan model, as well as for brands of some foreign manufacturers.
