Spanish group Mondragon, by means of Mapsa, which is part of the group that operates in the automotive field, will start the construction of a factory in Romania at the end of March. The investment in Campia Turzii, Cluj county, will amount to some 17 million euros and will run over a four-year period, with the Spanish company intending to build a plant for the production of aluminium rims. For these developments, Mapsa bought a 30,000 square-metre private plot of land in the area, for an estimated price of 750,000 euros. "The first part of the investment, to be completed in the autumn of 2007, will target the construction of a production facility with an approximately 12,500 square-metre area. Actual production will start in February 2008, with the plant employing 130 people," Adam Ambrus, general manager of Nervia Consultores, the company brokering the Mapsa investment in Romania, told ZF Transilvania.
