14.07.2006, 19:04 7

Spanish group Mondragon, which has made 11 billion euros in revenues worldwide, will invest some 5 million euros in an aluminium rims plant, located in the West of the country, through Mapsa, a group that is active in the automotive field. Representatives of the Spanish company have yet to opt for one location in particular, but have announced that production will start in the second half of next year. "The locations targeted by the Spanish company are Turda, Dej and Cluj-Napoca, but, following the talks we have had with them, the investment could actually take place in the logistic park that Nervia built in Apahida," Adam Ambrus told ZF Transilvania. Ambrus is the general manager of the industrial consultancy firm Nervia Consultores, a company that brokers Mapsa's investment in Romania. Mapsa has already signed a contract with Nervia. Nervia Consultores is a joint Romanian-Spanish venture, formed in 2005 by the former managementof the ACE group in Romania, a big automotive parts manufacturer that has two plants domestically.
