Antonio Iervolino, general manager for Romania of the low-cost air operator MyAir, says contracts closed with Italian companies account for around 10% of revenues seen on the local market. "We have closed contracts with Italian companies, construction companies with Romanian employees, for instance. MyAir has a special policy regarding these contracts, which enables companies to buy tickets at fixed prices at any time," he specified. Around 30% of MyAir's clients who travel to and from Romania are business travellers, with the remaining percentage being accounted for by ethnic travel and leisure travel. The company's revenues in Romania was estimated at around 30 million euros, with this year expected to see an over 60% increase. This growth will be stimulated by the increase in the number of weekly flights, which now stands at over 60. "We want to develop and operate domestic flights, and tap into other Romanian cities. We will introduce domestic flights from Bucharest to Cluj and Timisoara, and we are also considering a destination in Moldova, which will most likely be Iasi," said Iervolino.
