Software Development & Consulting (SDC) domestic softwareand services provider, a company controlled by Omnilogic IT&Cdistributor, reported 80% higher turnover in RON last year, to 51mRON (12m euros), from 28.4m RON (7.7m euros) in 2008. In euros, theannual increase amounted to over 50%. Mihai Popescu, generalmanager of the company, says in an interview with ZF that thefigure was partly triggered by the strategy defined in 2006, whenSDC's majority stake was taken over by Omnilogic. One of theelements that brought the 80% turnover increase, according toPopescu, was the promotion of services in a "software as a service"system. The first clients for this type of service appeared in2008, and in 2009 companies reacted very well to this type ofmessage. "This service was for us one of the performance keys in2009 and we hope it will be an important driver in 2010 as well, which will not be an easier year," he also said. The company plansto hire between 10 and 20 people this year. "We're hiring in 2010because we want to expand our business (...)," Popescu added.
