Insurance broker Activ Asigurari handled insurance contracts worth 43.6 million RON (12.5 million euros) last year, up 19% against 2005. This increase is, however, lower than that of the insurance market, over 30% in 2006. "The growth seen last year is not satisfactory for us. 2006 was a year bringing stability to our portfolio, a process, which did entail and still entails costs," Florin Sava, general manager of Activ Asigurari told ZF. The insurance broker handled 9,729 contracts last year, and posted a 5.7 million-RON (1.6 million-euro) turnover, 11.3% more than in 2005. "For 2007, we predict an approximately 30% turnover increase," stated Sava. General insurance accounts for 99% of the contracts handled by Activ Asigurari and life insurance for 1%. Car insurance (comprehensive, green card and auto liability insurance) accounts for the bulk of the general insurance portfolio.
