The domestic office of Alexander Hughes, an executive search consultancy, charges a minimum of 12,000 euros for a project to recruit a manager.
"Our minimum tariffs for recruitment on the domestic market stand at 12,000 euros, but can reach as much as 50,000 euros, depending on the scope and complexity of the task. For example, we can search for a manager throughout the world and then the costs this project entails are higher," explains Dana Patrichi, managing partner at Alexander Hughes Romania, told ZF.
However, the tariffs of Alexander Hughes in Romania remain at a much lower level than the company's other European offices.
"In the case of the Paris and London offices, tariffs can be as much as 250,000 euros for recruiting a manager," added Dana Patrichi.
Last year, Alexander Hughes placed a total of 75 managers both domestically and regionally. Out of these, 40 were recruited and placed in Romanian companies. Sometimes, recruitment projects unfold over relatively long periods of time, for instance, many of last year's completed projects actually started as early as 2005. According to Patrichi, approximately 100 managers will be recruited by the yearend.
In 2006, the company derived a turnover worth 500,000 euros and expects to reach a level of around 750,000 euros this year, up 50% year-on-year. Turnover growth is based on market requirements and on the current pressures of the human resources market.
The company's Romanian team includes six consultants, and a support team, which includes a nucleus of four researchers. With regard to possible acquisitions on the domestic market, Dana Patrichi says that Alexander Hughes is not considering any domestic purchases on short term.
In general, the recruitment tariffs of domestic firms operating in this field account for around 30% of the annual gross salary of a positioned manager. "We have a so-called 'flat-fee', namely we calculate the tariffs depending on the complexity of each recruitment task," says Patrichi, also adding that this helps secure independence and flexibility in the recruitment process.
The company is headquartered in Paris, whilst overall the company includes 35 offices in 24 European countries employing around 200 people. Alexander Hughes entered the Romanian market in 1996 and provides executive search services for various market sectors.
