American-held Office Depot, a provider of office supplies andsolutions, intends to reach around 500 employees by the end of nextyear at its European services centre (Shared Service Center, SSC),inaugurated in 2007 in Cluj-Napoca. According to companyrepresentatives, Cluj's Office Depot currently employs 390, withover 100 people to be hired within 12 months.
"Since opening, our services centre has had very good results.Considering the high quality workforce and the fact thatCluj-Napoca offers a stable and attractive business environment, weare planning to increase the number of employees to around 500 overthe next 12 months. We are also examining the possibility ofexpanding our range of services beyond the financial sector, tosectors like merchandising and acquisitions. To this end, we willcontinue to recruit, develop, and retain talents in ourorganisation," Boris Wouters, general manager of Office Depot Cluj,told ZF Transilvania.
