With the launch of the SUV Duster, the Dacia plant in Mioveni isat its sixth model and has reached full capacity.

Jacques Chauvet, chairman of the Board of Automobile Dacia andhead of Renault for the Euromed region (Eastern Europe, excludingRussia, Turkey, and North Africa) believes the impact of the SUVDuster launch by Dacia will be similar to that of the Logan in2004, with this being the first low-cost SUV on the Europeanmarket.

Duster has seen the Mioveni plant reach full capacity - sixmodels assembled in parallel, with the future models to bemanufactured in the plant in Tangier, Morocco, as of 2012.

"In 2009 the Dacia plant was the largest in the Renault group. It cannot grow any more complex. There are very few plants thatassemble six models. There will be new-generation cars manufacturedin Romania, but they will replace the current ones," JacquesChauvet said. He previously told ZF in an interview that Renaultintended to build a new plant for Dacia in Morocco, where two newDacia models would be manufactured.
