Give your bank two days' notice if you want to take out more than 5,000 euros

Clients wanting to withdraw more than 10,000 euros from a bankmust let the bank know about their intention at least one day aheadand in some cases they even need to go to the bank and file awritten request. Some banks need to be notified even aboutwithdrawals of just 3,000 euros or 10,000 RON. Bankers maintainthese limits pertain to security. Cases where clients must announcein advance they want to withdraw money from a bank are not highlyfrequent, though, in the context where the average of theindividual clients' deposits with banks do not exceed 6,000 RON,according to the data provided by the Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund.At the same time, just 0.2% of depositors hold savings worth above50,000 euros. Over the last few years, banks have been engaged in areal battle with ordinary clients on cash transactions. They havebeen charging double and even triple fees for pay desk paymentsunlike for payments made through Internet banking or cashmachines.
