Google-rewarded software developers reach 10m euros

Romanian-German company iQuest, a producer of software forcompanies, which also has a division of smartphone applications,targets 330 employees by the end of the year, up 27% against 2009.The company had 260 employees last year and around 70 more peoplehave been recruited in 2010.
"The IT sector continues to grow even in a difficult economic,fiscal and legislative context. After a 5% decline in the number ofemployees in 2009, this year we can talk about a rebound and even aslight increase. Professional skills and experienced peoplecontinue to be in great demand, only now they are harder to find,"Marcel Anghel, iQuest's organisational development manager told ZFTransilvania.
The company ended the first half of the year with a 5 million-euroturnover, up 11% on the similar period of last year, especiallythanks to the new software solutions for the Romanian market.
For the second half of the year, iQuest targets a 15% turnovergrowth compared with the first half of 2010, to around 5.7 millioneuros. The company is headquartered in Germany and holds twosoftware development centres in Cluj-Napoca and Braşov.
iQuest stepped into the global spotlight in December 2009, afterGoogle rewarded TripJournal, an application for mobile phonescreated by the Cluj company, which runs on Google's Androidoperating system.
