Server and computer demand in Romania went up in the thirdquarter particularly on companies' resumed orders, while consumersare still in expectation, states Tomasz Klekowski, a CEE managerwith Intel, the world's biggest microprocessor producer.
"Starting the second quarter, sales to consumers have slowed down, while sales to companies have increased. In the third quarter, regional sales to companies continued to rise, on all the segments, from servers to notebooks and desktops," Klekowski also toldZF.
Intel manager explains, though, that the order rally in Romaniacomes after PC and server sales dropped by 50% last year. "InRomania, the situation is more complex because of the economicsituation. Sales are better than in 2009, but I would be wary ofsaying there is a market boom in Romania. The figures are not atthe 2008 level, yet".
In 2008, the best year for the domestic IT industry, Romaniansbought over 1 million PCs and servers. In the first half of 2010,data point to a 34% market increase, according to IDC.
