New K+K hotel in Piata Universitatii

25.06.2007, 19:21 20

The Austrian hotel group K+K Hotels, owner of the Elisabeta hotel in the Universitatii Square area, intends to invest 20 million euros in the coming period in a four-star hotel with a 100 to 150-room capacity. "Due to the positive results seen in the hotel's first year in operation, the decision was made to acquire a second hotel in Bucharest. Currently, we are in talks to choose a building," said Anamaria Dunca, resident manager of K+K Hotel Elisabeta. She specified that the second hotel would also be located in the Piata Universitatii area. The Austrian group inaugurated its first hotel on the Romanian market last year, following a 9 million-euro investment. The Elisabeta hotel has a 67-room capacity, and registered an over 70% occupancy rate in its first year. Company representatives have so far refused to provide any information regarding last year's turnover. "Our first hotel doesn't have a large number of rooms, so we are not always able to meet the demand. Therefore, we intend the second hotel to have a capacity of 100-150 rooms," said Dunca.
