Three Romanian castles attract fewer visitors than one German castle

Three of the best-known castles in Romania, Bran, Peleş, andCorvinilor in Hunedoara, drew in 314,000 visitors in the firsteight months of this year, nearly three times fewer than one castlein Germany, i.e. Neuschwanstein (the castle of Ludwig II ofBavaria), according to a ZF analysis based on data sent by castleoperators.


Moreover, the revenues collected by the three castles in Romaniaamounted to around 1.7 million euros in the first eight months ofthe year, whereas one German castle collected nearly 8 millioneuros.
Although Peleş castle in Sinaia ranked sixth, above Neuschwanstein,at number 8, in a top 15 of the most beautiful castles in theworld, put together by international travel website opentravel.com,the number of visitors and revenues are a lot lower than thosereported by the Bavarian castle.
In January-August of this year, Peleş and Pelişor castles received30% less tourists than in the similar period of last year.
