Banca Transilvania, a top-ten Romanian-controlled bank, withover 6,000 employees, is one of the employers who havetraditionally invested in training their management teams throughMBA or Executive MBA programmes. The bank has a programme oftraining managers who come from within the bank, granting fundingfor employees that have reached a point in their career where theMBA is the best solution for their professional development.

"We currently have over 25 managers and specialists who graduatedfrom or are pursuing an MBA programme, benefitting from significantsponsorship from the bank, both financial and in terms of the timededicated to the MBA," says Nevenca Doca, executive HR manager ofBanca Transilvania.

The advantage of the investment made by the company in people withpotential is that they seldom decide to leave an employer who paidfor an MBA.
But MBA and EMBA programmes are not the only option that employersgo for. Within BRD-Société Générale, which has over 9,200 employeeson the Romanian market, each employee last year attended an averagefive-day training programme, paid for by the bank.

"As for management training, we launched integrated trainingprogrammes, adapted to suit each management level. This year wehave allocated around 25% of our overall training budget formanagement training," says Adela Jansen, executive HR managerwithin BRD-Groupe Société Générale.
