Who lost and who gained market share this year among top car brands

Six of the best-selling import brands in Romania, as well asDacia, the local brand, saw their market share expand this year,according to statistical data provided by car market players,though sales followed a downward trend. Two of the top ten brands,Opel and Chevrolet, also reported rising sales, though.
The biggest market increase this year was registered by Daciabrand, which advanced from a 29% market share in the first 11months of last year to almost 32% this year, considering its salesdropped by 11%, to 35,200 cars, half of the overall market'sdecline.
In the ranking of market share trends, the next two positions areheld by General Motors, Opel and Chevrolet brands, which togetheralso ranked second among the best-selling brand within "Rabla" (oldcar scrappage) scheme.
The steepest market share decline reported by a top ten importbrand was witnessed by Hyundai, which from 7.4% in 2009 dropped toless than 4% this year, amid the almost 60% lower sales, at 4,256units.
