Wizz Air does not see Romania as a country in crisis

Hungary's Wizz Air low-cost airline, which carried 1.6 millionpassengers in the first nine months of the year, up 30% from a yearago, is taking its expansion plan further by introducing newflights to Larnaca and Malaga, as well as by increasing flightfrequencies on 16 foreign destinations.
"We do not see Romania as a country in crisis, but as a growthopportunity, considering the number of passengers flying with WizzAir is on the rise. For this very reason we decided to boost ourtransport capacity by bringing a new aircraft to Bucharest," statedJohn Stephenson, deputy chairman with Wizz Air, operating fromthree hubs in Romania.
Wizz Air is the foreign-held low-cost carrier to have boasted thefastest growth in the past four years domestically. It came from17,000 passengers in 2006, when it arrived in Romania, to around1.7 million last year, according to officials. This August, thecompany's market share on the low-cost segment was put at49%.
"We expect to reach a 60% market share by late December consideringBlue Air's restructuring process".
