Teodor Ancuţa, founder of Sibiu Exchange, says he is trying topersuade state authorities to list Romgaz Mediaş on the spot marketof Sibiu, which he launched early this year, given the state-ownedcompany's proximity to the Sibiu Exchange.
Romgaz is one of the biggest state-owned energy companies, withturnover worth almost 3.2bn RON (around 754m euros) and net incomeof 572.5m RON (135m euros) last year.
Sibex enjoys the support of the Warsaw exchange, with which it hasa partnership, and which could bring part of the investors thestate needs to sell a 15% stake in Romgaz.
The Government has recently decided to sell stakes of 15% inTranselectrica Bucureşti (TEL), Transgaz Mediaş (TGN) and RomgazMediaş, with the latter as the only one of the three that is notlisted.
The listing of Fondul Proprietatea (Property Fund - FP) on the BSEis likely to cast a shadow over Sibiu spot market, especially ifthe management fails to bring companies to make the market liquid.Ancuţa in May said he would have two companies listed on Sibex spotmarket in three months and that he wanted to have five IPOsconducted for this year, but nothing is certain at thismoment.
