Dănilă, winner of BCR privatisation, has 21 million euros in liquid assets

Banker Nicolae Dănilă, former chief executive of BCR andcurrently a member of NBR's Board of Directors, has increased hisliquid assets by almost two million euros from June throughOctober, so that his financial assets reached about 20.8 millioneuros, according to his personal financial disclosure statementdated October 26.

He keeps most of his money in bank deposits, whose value stands atabout 11.5 million euros, including investments with investmentfunds. From June through October, Dănilă increased the number ofbanks with which he has accounts open to no less than 15 comparedwith 7 as stated in June. The banker has more than 6 million eurosin euro-denominated deposits, plus savings in domestic currencyworth 23.2 million RON (about 5.4 million euros) and 50,107 USdollars.

A significant source of cash was the compensation package he gotfrom Erste Group when he retired from his chief executive positionat BCR in 2007, which is said to have amounted to 3 million eurosaccording to information on the market.
Also as a result of the position with BCR, which he kept for sevenyears, Dănilă owns stock in Erste Group, the indirect majorityshareholder of BCR, which was worth more than 5.5 million euros inOctober.
