Wyndham hotel chain, a part of the American group by the same name, intends to enter the Romanian market, with the first hotel of the chain to be built in Bucharest, probably starting in 2010, Tinu Sebesanu, chief executive of Trend Hospitality, told MEDIAFAX news agency. "The first Wyndham-branded hotel in Romania will be developed in Bucharest, but construction works will definitely not start this year. We have not set a firm date, but it could be next year," Sebesanu said. Consulting firm Trend Hospitality is the strategic partner in Romania of American hotel group Wyndham, the world's largest lodging franchiser, which includes in its portfolio brands such as Howard Johnson, Days Inn, Ramada and Wyndham. In addition to bringing new brands onto the Romanian market, the group wants to continue expansion of the Ramada chain in Romania. Two Ramada hotels will be affiliated this year, in Cluj-Napoca and Oradea, with works to start on another two hotels, in Pitesti and Timisoara. "This year will see the opening of two Ramada-branded hotels in Cluj-Napoca and Oradea, following an around 25 million-euro investment. The hotels will have a joint capacity of 220 rooms and will be the chain's first openings in these cities. The following two Ramada hotels will be built in Pitesti and Timisoara, with works to start this year or in 2010, depending on how lending progresses. The investment going into these properties amounts to around 35 million euros," Sebesanu added.
