Sweden's H&M brought employees from Switzerland, Sweden andPoland in the first two stores it opened in Romania, even though italso sent Romanian employees for training in these countries.

H&M representatives chose not to specify the number ofRomanians and foreigners working in the stores of Unirea ShoppingCenter and AFI Palace Cotroceni. The two stores have 140 employeestogether.

"Each time we open stores in a new country we ask for the helpof colleagues in countries with already established stores, to besure H&M information and values are easily conveyed. This isalso the reason why most of the people we've hired in recent monthsbenefitted from a training period in Switzerland, Sweden orPoland," said Laura Sinca, marketing and PR manager withH&M.

She added she did not know whether foreigners would be broughtin the stores due to be opened, but "I hope we will work mainlywith Romanian employees in the next stores we'll open inRomania".
