Head of UniCredit Leasing: The crisis will filter "commuter" employees

14.10.2008, 20:04 12

The best effect of the financial crisis will be that it will put an end to employee migration from company to company, in search of higher salaries, especially in the financial sector, according to Septimiu Postelnicu, CEO of UniCredit Leasing Corporation, which last year ranked first on its market, with funding worth 500 million euros granted. "Personnel fluctuation, which is extremely high in the financial sector, will go down in the coming period. It will be a time of gathering know-how and of internal consolidation. I am sure 'commuters' will settle down and salary increases of 25-30% from one year to the next will no longer be possible, because if this crisis hadn't fallen upon us, we would have faced another one due to these salary increases," says Postelnicu. He adds that, in the context of this financial turmoil, companies will no longer increase their number of employees, and those who remained in a company for a year at the most, and then leave to another company, will have to prove how skilled they are to stay.
