Insurer Asirom recruits former Eximbank chairperson

26.04.2005, 19:40 11

Asirom insurance company, which ranks second on the market in terms of revenue volumes, has recruited former Eximbank chairperson Mariana Diaconescu for the position of chief financial officer, market sources say. Eximbank, which is state-owned, saw a change of management in late March. Diaconescu was unavailable for comment.

The move comes as part of an operation to change the entire management team at Asirom. After recruiting Steluta Racolta (former general manager at Ardaf) at the end of last year for the position of sales manager, businessman Ioan Niculau, who controls the company through his company InterAgro, is pressing ahead with the recruitment process for all the top positions at the company. The new human resources manager will be Mihaela Rausser (from Raiffeisen), while Cristian Gheorghita (formerly with Zapp) will take over as marketing manager.

The manager of the subscription department (the Insurance unit) will be filled by Diana Ganescu (former general manager of Asigurarea Anglo-Romana, which previously belonged to Balli group before losing its operational licence).

The post of general manager, currently occupied by Ion Bratulescu (former head of the life insurance unit) will be taken over by a different person, most likely an expat, the sources say.

Ioan Niculae has been looking for a new team of managers for Asirom for over one year, during which time the company has been through four general managers, including Britain''s Fred Heath. sorin.pislaru@zf.ro
