Labour Minister Ioan Botiş yesterday in a press conference ofruling party PDL (Democratic-Liberal Party) presented thefavourable opinions he received from certain business ownersregarding the new Labour Code, saying he had not received opinionsfrom employees, but that the new Code will lead to the creation of90,000 jobs.
"I noticed opinions favourable to the Code across all businessareas, as well as a positive media campaign regarding the Code,with businesspeople among whom were representatives of bigcompanies, making positive comments," Botiă said.
He stated the current Labour Code provided for the fact that in thecase of collective dismissals the social criterion would prevailover the professional one, saying that, under the modificationproposed by him the employer no longer bears the "social burden",which will be taken over by the state.
The Government on Tuesday assumed responsibility for the LabourCode, with PSD (Social Democratic Party), PNL (National LiberalParty) and PC (Conservative Party) opposition members of parliamentsubmitting a censure motion, which will be debated and a voted onon March 16.
