The operator of the Plus Discount Romania store network has started construction works in order to expand, by around 50%, the storage capacity of its logistic platform in Ploiesti, with the project's investment value standing at 10-13 million euros. "The expanded logistics centre will reach a 40,000-43,000 square-metre surface area, with the works expected for completion in February-March 2008," stated Ioana Marginean, marketing manager of Plus Discount Romania. The company's logistic investments will aid the development of the store network, which currently numbers 42 stores. The company's plans include another 22 network openings by the end of the year, and in the medium to long term, the development of an over 170 discount-store network. The discount company also targets building another logistic centre, which will be located in Cluj county, with an investment planned in the next year. The retailer usually invests around 1.5 million euros in each newly opened store.
