RED in talks to attract Asian IT companies to mixed project on Iasi platform

RED Management Capital, developer of Armonia Centers in Arad and Braila, could invest 600m euros in a mixed project which will include office space, data centres and IT labs, which will be located on the over 20-hectare Terom platform it controls in Iasi. "We will tear down all the buildings on the platform, and are planning to build labs, data centres and offices here, following investments that could exceed 600 million euros. We will only develop based on pre-contracts, not speculatively. We are in talks with several hi-tech companies in South-Eastern Asia and elsewhere, which could open production facilities here," Andrew Stear, RED's managing partner told ZF. One of the first large foreign companies to have chosen Iasi for a plant is Delphi, which is present both in Terom and in Miroslava commune, where a 100 million-euro plant is being built. Construction works for the first stage of the project could start at the end of this year, depending on how talks progress with the companies interested.
