Things at the helm of the largest airline carrier on theRomanian market, Tarom, are uncertain, with the change of the airoperator's general manager being discussed for over a month, without an official decision being made.
A few weeks ago, UDMR (Democratic Alliance of Hungarians inRomania), the party entitled to appoint the management of thestate-held airline Tarom, chose Gombos Csaba for general manager, who used to run the operations of electrical wiring manufacturerRomcab Targu-Mures.
However, Transport Minister Radu Berceanu has not approved hisappointment yet.
These plans to change the management of the air company come at atime when the business of the airline is affected by the decline intraffic and in the wake of a disastrous 2009 for Tarom, with lossesput at 21 million euros and 260 million-euro revenues, under theterm of Ruxandra Brutaru, 29.
"Any change at the helm of companies within the Ministry ofTransport and Infrastructure will be announced officially. Atpresent, Ruxandra Brutaru is general manager of Tarom," RaduBerceanu, Transport Minister, told ZF.
