Larix, a producer of indoor and garden furniture, and of wood-made sports articles, estimates a 10 million-euro turnover for this year, up by some 35% against 2006. "Although last year our target had been a 10 million-euro turnover by 2010, we have set out to achieve this goal in 2007, given the orders from our partners in the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy and Austria," stated the manager of Larix Group, Gheorghe Cimpian. Exports account for about 95% of the group's total turnover. The Larix group consists of three plants operating in furniture production, with the manufacturing process being conducted in the plants in Gheorghieni, Alunis and Reghin. The sale of the furniture on the Romanian market is done through Ambient, Mobila Center, Alicante, and Mobexpert chains of stores. "Currently, the furniture market is on the rise, which has generated a repositioning of the majority of Romanian companies. This gives rise to the emergence of new opportunities constantly, with the demand on the market being more and more diversified on the premium segment targeted by our group of firms," added Cimpian. Larix was set up in 1992, with the main shareholder of the group of firms being Berecki Zsolt.
