A&D Pharma looks into expansion by greenfield investments

A&D Pharma has put together its international management team, which now consists of five people, in the first half of this year. David Ebsworth, with over 25 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with companies such as Pfizer and Bayer, was appointed executive chairman of A&D Pharma, and is now in charge of developing the group both domestically and internationally. "There are five people in the international team already who have started to analyse the possibility of greenfield investments, and not just acquisitions and mergers. In the case of a greenfield investment, the initial investment is smaller, with one of the advantages being that one can implement an already working business model. This is easier than changing mentalities," said Dragos Dinu (photo), CEO of A&D Pharma. Roger de Bazelaire, the new CFO of the group, has worked in companies such as Dresdner Kleinwort Capital (the investment banking division of Dresdner Bank), as CFO of the Polish National Telecommunications Company and as Senior Vice-President, Strategy and Finance of Altimo, an investment company in Moscow. He replaces Florin Buligoanea, who was CFO of the group since January 2002. Charles Gloor, who provides consulting services for the group, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer International and is in charge of developing the group's international strategy.
