Accenture recruits the former head of Motorola

30.07.2007, 17:46 8

Aurelian Sima (45), who ran Motorola's business for six years on the domestic market, has taken over the reins of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centre in Bucharest of the American company Accenture, which provides consulting services, technological and outsourcing solutions. Sima is the first Romanian to run a BPO centre on the domestic market, with the remaining companies, which hold such businesses continuing to be under expat management. The BPO has to do with outsourcing business processes outside the company's core business, a field that is seeing a strong development at the moment. Sima has replaced British-born Alasdair Glen (34), who ran the BPO centre for 15 months, from the very entry of Accenture on the Romanian market, last year. "Our goal is to put a local manager at the helm of each centre we are opening, in as little time as possible, especially owing to their relations with the domestic business environment and with the employees. It can be difficult to manage a different culture," says Glen, as an explanation for Accenture's decision to appoint a Romanian at the helm of the BPO centre.
