Aectra sees $15m from plant protection

06.06.2005, 19:08 14

The agricultural division of Aectra Romania projects revenues of 15 million dollars (12 million euros) for this year, similar to the value logged last year, despite the direct entry onto the Romanian market of the US giant DuPont, for which Aectra had been the only distributor for Romania. "I hope that the nationwide presence of DuPont will allow all customers, and us implicitly, to boost the value of services provided on the market, and hence the currently held market share", says Dan Farcas, Aectra''s marketing manager. Aectra''s total sales last year amounted to 33 million dollars (26 million euros), of which Aectra SRL accounted for 13 million dollars (10 million euros), Aectra Agrochemicals for 11 million dollars (8.5 million euros), and Chemical Independent Group Campia Turzii for 4 million dollars (more than 3 million euros). The company''s international trade with chemical and petrochemical products stood at 5 million dollars (almost 4 million euros). For this year, Aectra anticipates for agriculture, and particularly for industry, an increase of the consolidated turnover by about 20%, with an important weight held by the domestic pesticides industry, by the paints and constructions divisions. Other divisions should grow by more than 10%. ZF
