Alcoa Fujikura, manufacturer of electric cables for the automotive industry, estimates a 10% increase of its turnover against last year, when this index stood at 16.9 million euros. "Investments made during the last few years in expanding production capacities have resulted in an increase in the turnover," stated Adriana Lenardt, communication and human resources manager of Alcoa Fujikura. The company opened its third production facility in Romania in Beius, Bihor county, at the beginning of this month. According to company officials, some 300,000 euros have been invested so far in the new facility, but investments will go on over the whole course of this year and will reach 800,000 euros. Alcoa Fujikura did not make a greenfield investment, but opted for renting an already existing space. "The new facility will have a total surface of 3,600 square metres, and production is due to start this month. We will start by having 76 workers, with their number to stand at some 400 people by the end of next year," Lenardt added. ZF
